About

Our product
WHALE is a poster store that allows you to modify its designs and print them out in large formats. We like it big, bright, and bold. We believe there are too many empty walls out there that could use a little more color. This all comes at an affordable price, so feel free to even design a series of posters ;)
Artists
All images are exclusively designed for our shop by professionals. We do not reprint pre-existing artwork but rather start from scratch with every new design. This approach, while time-consuming, is well worth the effort of ensuring the quality of our prints.
Responsibility
We want our products’ impact on the environment to be as small as possible. At WHALE we closely examine every part of our posters’ production, striving for constant improvement.
We use renewable energy wherever possible. If this is not possible (e.g. shipping), CO2 emissions are being offset. The posters themselves are printed with odorless, water-based, and non-toxic inks on FSC certified paper. Hanging them inside is completely safe.
At WHALE we take our carbon footprint seriously, and if you have any questions or comments about our commitment, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Story
WHALE was founded in 2014 by Daniel Stutz, a swiss web and graphic designer who also runs Süpèr. WHALE was born out of the desire to buy affordable posters in large formats. Along the way came the idea to let people modify the design to their own liking.

Nerdy notes
WHALE makes use of the fabulous Paper.js framework developed by Jürg Lehni and Jonathan Puckey.
Our site was tested on most modern browsers (IE9+) and is also fun to use on an iPad.
